OH HOLY NIGHT!

When it comes to christmas music, I can definitely say that I am not one to enjoy listening to it. I have to be in a certain mood to listen to christmas music, so you could understand how much of a pet peeve it is  when all my favourite radio channels play  christmas charols. However, this does not mean I am a scrooge to christmas itself, or the music. I can say there is one christmas carol, my favourite one, that I can listen to over and over again. I can remember when I first started loving this song. I first remember hearing it on the first Home Alone movie, and have since then grown to love and appreciate this song. So here are a bunch of covers from some of my favourite artists on Youtube. ENJOY!

A THOUSAND YEARS

This song of the day is to celebrate the last day of exams. I only had one exam but it still required a lot of studying and stressing over. This song that I am featuring was specifically written and produced for the Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1 movie. I still haven't scene the movie, but this song is one of my new favourites. The words go perfectly with the story of Twilight and it just expresses so much emotion of love, happines, and joy. I am also a fan of the tea light candles used in the video. It is amazing that such a small object can make a music video so extraordinary. I hope everyone enjoys this song and video as much as I do!

WATCH ME - 21st CENTURY GIRL!

Back again with two songs for you to listen to. The first once I found on Youtube just browsing for songs. The song is a good upbeat song for dancing, and the random bright outfits are awesome! The second song has a pretty cool music video to it. I came across it after watching parts of Justin Bieber and Jayden Smith performing 'Never Say Never'. It's a Willow Smith (Jayden's sister) song and it just has another good beat to it. ENJOY!

BACK HOME

The original version of this song is sung by Gym Class Hero's, but if you have checked out my previous posts, you will know that the majority of songs I listen to are covers sung by other artists. So I liked this cover, mainly because it is a cool video with all the special camera affects. So Hope you enjoy!

MY SONGS FOR JULY AND AUGUST!!

So as you can see I haven't posted anything in almost two months, so I can honestly say I have a lot to make up for it. Due to working full time for the months of July and August I never found the time to post any song/video's. So to do that I will be posting a few songs that I hope you will enjoy as much as I do.

The first song I want to share is on I just heard a couple of days ago. It is from Avril Lavgine's new album "Goodbye Lullaby." I was drawn in becasue when I was listening to it, it just made me think of how true the emotions are in the song. To be a single girl missing someone or wanting to be aroud a person that makes you happy. So first song up:

"Wish You Were Here"
by
Avril Lavgine

The second song, I can't remember where I first heard, but I love the music portion of the song. The happy folk/pop rock beat makes the song seem full of happiness and makes me smile. So it seemed like a good song to share with everyone.

"Slow Your Breath Down"
by
 Future of Forestry

My third choice comes from the lovely Colbie Caillat.  This song is one that I can just see in a movie, where there is a girl missing a guy who is gone. Which I woud probably be crying watchinf that scene, but it would still be awesome. Another reason why I choose this song is because of the paintings that are in the video. What it would be like to have that talent.

"I Never Told You"
by
Colbie Caillat

My next song if just amazing I have to say. From the vocals to the lyrics to the music and the video, I just think the song is powerful and happy all around.

"All Around Me"
by
Flyleaf

This next song definitely has more of a calm tune to it. It is a bit different from the songs I normaly listen to but I just love it, so I had to share it. I first heard the song when watching 'The Vampire Diaries", which is another thing I love to watch so they just went together perfectly. I also love how the video has a less modern setting to it.

"Skinny Love"
by
Birdy

My third last song I want to share is a 'Taylor Swift' song cover performed By Josie who is a beautiful 11 year old with a fantastic voice. She performes the song with Tyler Ward, who is also an artist on Youtube, who I have featured before on my blog. So enjoy the song.

"The Story of Us"
cover by
Josie & Tyler Ward

So I have been hearing this song on the radio for the longest time, and it is just of recently that I actually look it up online to see who the artist was along with the title of the song. Again this song is one I can picture featured in a romance movie. I don't know why I see it being featured in a movie, it's just part of my imagination that likes to dream.

"Caifornia King Bed"
by
Rhianna

My last song I want to share with you is by another Youtube artist who has an amazing voice and I absolutely love. This song is one of her original songs that she wrote both the lyrics and music herslef. Currently she is on tour with a couple of other Youtube artists. Another awesome fact about her: she is a member of the LDS church,  which I thought was pretty awesome, and all the more reason to share her song with everyone. ENJOY!

DIRT ROAD ANTHEM

So one of my favourite things to do in my spare time is to watch music videos on YouTube, when people have interpreted their own covers to the many popular songs produced today by many different artists. I enjoy subscribing to many talented young artists on YouTube. One of them known as Tyler Ward is an fantastic artist that owns his own recording studio and helps other YouTube artists created their own videos. A recent song he updated, was quite different from the songs that he normally sticks to covering. The original version of this song, by Jason Aldean, is a country pop genre based song with a bit of rap/talking added. I know country pop and rap might not sound like a good combination.;However, with Tyler's talent he is able to turn the song into his own style.  He converts it to seem more like a pop/rap combo. Anyways I really enjoyed it so I hope you enjoy my  'SONG OF THE DAY' as well.

SONG OF THE DAY

So today was quite an emotional day for my family and I. As some of you know my younger brother Dustin left for his church mission. He will be serving in the Portland, Oregon area for the next two years, which although it was sad to see him go, I know he is making the right choice in choosing serve a mission for the LDS church.
But that doesn't mean everything else that happened today was depressing. On a brighter note, today was also the release of Simple Plan's 4th album 'Get Your Heart On'. My sister bought the album and as we were listening to it, this particular song stuck out my sister and I. It just remimnded my sister of Dustin leaving today and seemed to fit well for my song of the day. So hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Someday I'll learn to play the guitar!

MY SONG OF THE DAY

Every one is probably wondering why I have decided to create a music blog. Well my three main reasons would be to:
1. Share my favourite music quotes
2. Share my favourite music pictures
3. Share my favourite songs

I have always had an interest in music, and recently I came across the thought of  'how cool it would be if I had a song of the day'. A song that I love and am able to share with friends, family and others around me. So I started sharinf this 'song of the day' thing not to long ago on facebook & twitter and just decided I should make a blog out of it. I'm not to keen and blogging, in fact it annoys me a lot ( Not offense to al those bloggers out there, just my personal preference), However, blogging seems to be the best way to keep track of all the songs I am sharing and to help express my love for music. The majority of the songs that I share, I find randomly, whether it's while browsing on YouTube, reading stories, watching  movies, or coming across them via other people. The majority of the music I share, are songs I am hearing for the first time, which is why I feel like sharing it with others.

Since I am not a big fan of blogging, I will not be posting a new song everyday, only when I come across a song that I feel like everyone should have the chance to listen to it.

With that said, here is my first 'Blog for my 'SONG OF THE DAY!'
Hope you can enjoy it as much as I did, and who knows, it could end up having a bigger impact on you than it did for me.

P.S. I just love the music and lyrics to this song. This song has nothing to do with how I view my life.
